A sauna at a tiny house has become the most sought-after glamping add-on in the Czech Republic — especially from October to March, when a classic tent or yurt just isn’t enough. An MB tiny house with a sauna gives guests a year-round wellness experience they gladly pay a premium for.
Why combine a tiny house and a sauna
A sauna at a tiny house solves two things at once: the winter season and differentiation. While glamping tents close in October, a tiny house with a sauna runs at full capacity — guests come precisely for the contrast between cold nature and hot wood.
On Airbnb, a tiny house with a sauna holds a rating of 4.9/5 and occupancy above 75% year-round. That’s a benchmark standard glamping accommodation can’t reach.
Types of sauna for a glamping tiny house
Barrel sauna (most popular)
A wooden barrel 200 cm in diameter, 2.5–4 m long. Price CZK 40,000–90,000. Installation: level ground, an electricity connection (or a wood stove). Capacity for 3–6 people. The best value for money for glamping.
Finnish sauna on a trailer
A mobile version on its own chassis. Can be relocated. Price CZK 120,000–250,000. Ideal for a glamping resort with multiple tiny houses — several units share the sauna, raising overall returns without needing a sauna for each one.
Infrared sauna inside the tiny house
A cabin installable inside an MB9 or MB11 (min. area 2×2 m). Temperature 40–60°C, less steam. Cabin price CZK 30,000–80,000. A compromise option — a smaller wow effect than an outdoor barrel, but less outdoor space used.
Best MB models for a sauna
- MB9 (2+1 or 3+1) — the best-seller for glamping with a sauna. A 3×3 m terrace is ideal for a barrel sauna.
- MB11 Titan — spacious, the terrace fits both a sauna and a hot tub. A complete wellness resort in one unit.
- MB Catwalk 9 — a terrace running the full length of the house, a design look plus a sauna = the premium segment.
Legal requirements: does a sauna at a tiny house need a permit?
In most cases, no. A barrel sauna or a mobile sauna on its own chassis is a movable item — it doesn’t require a building permit. A tiny house with O2/O3 certification is a vehicle, so it doesn’t need a building permit either.
The result: the entire complex (tiny house + sauna) can be placed on land without a single official stamp. The condition is that the sauna stands on its own chassis or is portable.
Note: a concrete foundation under the sauna could be classified as a structure. Use footings, wooden feet or portable bases instead.
