Camping has been synonymous with a holiday in nature for decades. Glamping is changing the rules of the game — and it’s growing faster in the Czech Republic than any other accommodation segment. Where’s the difference, and why does tiny house glamping win?
Camping vs. glamping: what you get

| Hot tub / sauna | Rare | Standard for premium units |
| Price/night | CZK 200–600 | CZK 1,200–3,500 |
| Airbnb rating | 4.2–4.5 | 4.8–5.0 |
Who chooses glamping over camping
The key demographic for tiny house glamping is couples aged 28–45, without children or with young children. They’re looking for an experience, comfort and privacy — a tent isn’t enough, a hotel feels too impersonal. A tiny house is the ideal middle ground.
The second group: families with children aged 5–12, who want nature but with comfort (a bed, a warm shower, a kitchenette). An MB9 (3+1) with a terrace and a fire pit is perfect.
Why glamping is growing faster than camping in the Czech Republic
Since 2020, the number of active glamping units in the Czech Republic on Airbnb has tripled (from around 800 to over 2,400). Camping, by contrast, is stagnating. The reasons:
- Post-COVID customers prefer privacy over shared spaces
- Average holiday spending in the Czech Republic is rising — people are spending more on experiences
- The Instagram effect — glamping is photogenic, camping isn’t
- A tiny house is a mobile asset — an investor can relocate or sell it
Is glamping more profitable than running a campsite?
A comparison for 1 hectare of land:
- A classic campsite (25 pitches, tents): 55% occupancy, an average of CZK 350/night/pitch × 25 = CZK 8,750/night. A 130-day season = CZK 1,137,500. Operating costs (management, sanitation, water): ~CZK 600,000. Net revenue: ~CZK 537,000
- A tiny house glamping resort (5 MB9 tiny houses with a hot tub): 70% occupancy, an average of CZK 2,400/night × 5 = CZK 12,000/night. Year-round operation, 300 days = CZK 3,600,000. Operating costs: ~CZK 1,200,000. Net revenue: ~CZK 2,400,000
A glamping resort generates roughly a 4–5× higher net return on the same land than a classic campsite.
